A Planned Community With A Long Story
Upper Arlington was shaped from the beginning as a residential community rather than growing randomly around an existing downtown. In 1913, brothers King and Ben Thompson purchased 840 acres of the Miller Farm and began developing what was originally called the Country Club District. The plan included streets following the natural contours of the land, open spaces, and homes set back from the roads.
Development was briefly interrupted when the property became the site of Camp Willis in 1916. After the land was returned, development resumed, and by March 20, 1918, the community had grown enough to incorporate as the Village of Upper Arlington. The name was chosen because the new community was north of the area historically known as Arlington.
Upper Arlington continued expanding through the following decades. The village became a city in 1941, while post-war growth and later annexations helped establish the boundaries and neighborhoods recognized today. The city’s history also includes the Old Arlington Historic District, which was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1985.
That mix of established homes and continued reinvestment makes every HVAC system a little different. My Choice Heating & Air looks at the equipment, ductwork, airflow, controls, and overall condition before explaining what is actually happening through the Confidence Report™.

Planned From The Start
Upper Arlington was designed with residential streets, open spaces, and homes integrated into the surrounding landscape. We bring that same attention to the details when evaluating an HVAC system.
Established Homes, Changing Systems
Many Upper Arlington neighborhoods have decades of history behind them, while homeowners continue to update equipment and improve comfort. We look at the current system rather than making assumptions based on the age of the house.
